PILATES APPARATUS

Authentic Pilates goes beyond the mat and Reformer to include many other pieces of equipment (known as apparatus). Although each apparatus is unique, they are designed to work cohesively as a system to support or challenge your body and help you progress within the system devised by Joseph Pilates. To look at just one piece of apparatus is to miss the beauty and ingenuity of how they all connect together and transform your practice.

The studio is fully equipped with Classical apparatus.

Find out a bit more about each piece of apparatus we use in the studio by scrolling below.

Classical Pilates Reformer

REFORMER

Thanks to the growing success of Reformer group classes, this apparatus remains the most popular piece of Pilates equipment. A bed-like frame with a flat platform on it which rolls back and forth on wheels within the frame. The carriage is attached to one end of the reformer by a set of springs. Utilises a spring mechanism to create horizontal resistance to make exercises more or less challenging.

The reformer provides a low-impact workout which is highly effective to maintain muscle tone, strengthen the legs, glutes, shoulders, spine and deep core muscles.

In the studio you'll find nothing less but an authentic Classical Reformer; dimensions and springs give you a Reformer workout second to none!
