PREGNANCY & POSTPARTUM PILATES

"A Curated Programme"

Pregnant Woman Practicing Yoga

Having a baby is a very special time, so you need a special studio to work-out in and take care of you and your baby.

A curated Pilates programme during your pregnancy is essential. This means learning how to engage the core, deep abdominals and pelvic floor, which weaken under the weight of the growing baby, and from birth. These muscles play a key role for a good delivery and important for healing after the baby has been born. We'll also focus on

strengthening back muscles to help support the extra weight of the growing baby and protect the back from overstraining or injury.

Postnatal recovery, especially the first four months, is also very important. I can help new mothers regain inner strength and close diastasis. Pilates for pregnancy and postpartum focuses on all the key areas that need special care and can promote wellness and recovery of your body from the inside out.

Work with me in a fully equipped studio to experience the whole system of Pilates and reap the benefits of the extra support afforded by the various Pilates apparatus during this special time. We can tailor the exercises for you as an individual body, wherever you are in your journey.

**Pregnancy – You must have a low risk pregnancy to start, be over 13 weeks pregnant and have had your 1st scan &  midwife appointment.

**Post-natal – 6 weeks plus after normal delivery, 10 weeks after caesarean to start, you'll need to have a post natal check up. Ask your midwife, GP or women's health physio to determine if you have pelvic floor issues, prolapse, abdominal separation or any other issues.
